M+M re-enters Electrical CAD software development
- Licensing back ECSCAD which M+M sold to Autodesk in 2008
- 10% more segment sales and profit expected mid-term
Wessling, November 27, 2013 - From Jan 1, 2014, Mensch und Maschine
Software SE (MUM - ISIN DE0006580806), a CAD/CAM specialist company, will
license back the Electrical design software ECSCAD, which had been sold
to Autodesk 5 years ago, and re-enter development and support of the
product as well as sales and marketing in the German speaking area and the
rest of Europe.
Through this strengthening of its strategically important Software segment,
M+M expects approx. 10% higher segment sales (2012: EUR 33.6 mln) and
segment EBITDA (2012: EUR 5.5 mln) in the mid-term.
M+M CEO Adi Drotleff highly appreciates the new member of M+M's proprietary
software development family: 'Autodesk want to concentrate efforts on their
globally successful AutoCAD Electrical for mid-range projects, so when
they offered us the opportunity to license back ECSCAD (being primarily
popular for large electrical projects in the German speaking countries), we
did not hesitate to take that opportunity. Developing and marketing the
product hand in hand in the future will allow us to carry out highly
focused development according to the needs of the more than 1,000 ECSCAD
customers.'
