Karlsruhe and Cologne Expand Partnership with asknet
Karlsruhe - November 28, 2013 - asknet, a leading provider of global
e-commerce and e-portal solutions, has once again won a bid to work with
KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). In addition, the University of
Cologne has also chosen to renew its cooperation with the Karlsruhe-based
company. The agreement covers the expansion of the university's
eProcurement portal functions and services for the processing of software
procurement processes. As a result, both institutes of higher education
will continue to source their software using the asknet eProcurement
portal.
An Easy and Affordable Way to Procure Software Licenses
During the bidding process, the IT specialists from Karlsruhe were able to
show that their eProcurement portals are optimally suited for the processes
and structures of colleges and universities. The ease of integrating asknet
portals into existing university structures has already helped lift the
Karlsruhe-based company to a leading position in the market for
eProcurement portals for research and education. asknet has been developing
and implementing procurement portals for software products since 1995.
Today, 80 percent of all German universities are customers of the company.
KIT extended its contract with asknet on March 1, 2013 for an additional
two years for the fourth time in a row. Users are supplied with software
products via a portal featuring direct software download and licensing key
handover. The portal also offers automatic processing in the ERP system
(SAP) of KIT's large-scale research sector.
'We are delighted to have won the KIT bid once again, and we are pleased
that the University of Cologne has tasked us with expanding their
