Düsseldorf, 30 September 2010 - net mobile AG (ISIN: DE0008137852),
Europe's leading provider of mobile and interactive value-added services,
reported pleasing and solid business development overall in the first nine
months of the 2009/10 financial year.
The Company's revenue rose by EUR1,595 thousand or 2.4% year-on-year from
EUR66,415 thousand to EUR68,009 thousand, with all business areas reporting
slight increases. In terms of the growth in revenue, it should be noted
that the comparable period of the previous year still included revenue of
EUR9,790 thousand in the Chat division, which has since been discontinued.
Without this, the growth would have amounted to 20.1%.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) deteriorated in the first nine
months of the current financial year by EUR1,346 thousand to -EUR1,068
thousand (previous year: EUR278 thousand). Due to the significantly
improved financial result of EUR129 thousand (previous year: -EUR361
thousand) and income taxes of EUR405 thousand (previous year: -EUR217
thousand), an overall net loss of EUR533 thousand was recorded for the
current reporting period (previous year: net loss of EUR299 thousand). At
EUR3,198 thousand, profit from operating activities (EBITDA) was only
slightly lower than the previous year's figure of EUR3,599 thousand, and
the operating cash flow of EUR3,033 thousand was also only EUR44 thousand
lower than in the same period of the previous year (EUR3,077 thousand).
The result was negatively impacted by scheduled expenditure for integration
by the new major shareholder NTT DOCOMO and the associated reorganisation.
In addition, depreciation increased by EUR963 thousand year-on-year as a
result of the investments undertaken.
Shareholders' equity increased by EUR4,367 thousand in relation to 30
September 2009, chiefly due to a capital increase, and now totals EUR37,698
thousand as of the reporting date. The equity ratio rose slightly from
62.5% to 63.5% in the period under review. The Company had cash and cash
equivalents in the amount of EUR3,916 thousand at the current reporting
date.
Outlook
Despite strong overall business development, costs for integration into the
new parent company NTT DOCOMO are currently still impacting the result
noticeably, meaning that a break-even or slightly negative result is
expected for the year as a whole.
net mobile AG most recently initiated a major new project with Telekom
Austria and six eastern European carriers. In addition, there was a
significant increase in customer requests for outsourcing solutions for
mobile services.
The investments made in new innovative products and the integration into
the NTT DOCOMO Group will be reflected in higher profits in the medium
term. For the coming financial year 2010/2011, the Company is targeting a
positive result.
