Sales are no longer just a favorite marketing tool of bricks-and-mortar

opportunities to save money. 'Black Friday is probably the best-known

online shops in the market or in the region try to attract customers with
special offers. A few years ago, few outside the U.S. knew what 'Black
Friday' was. But these days, if you don't take advantage of such local
e-commerce sales opportunities, you're leaving the field open to your
competitors.'
However, shop operators who want to profit from special offers need to
observe certain rules of play. Retailers should announce sales in advance
and make sure their shop is ready to handle the special offers. They need
to take a look at layout, the buying process and their website's
capacities. Within just a few hours, the number of clicks on their
corporate website and online shop will skyrocket. If the shop is
unavailable due to receiving too many visitors, shoppers are unable to buy,
making the entire sale a flop.
The next big online sales day will take place in Spain in January, on Dia
de los Reyes (Epiphany). Between New Year's Day and January 6, many
retailers will have special offers in store for their customers. Speck has
some advice for online shops that also do business in Spain: 'We recommend
announcing these sales before the holidays. January 6 is as important as
Christmas in Spain, if not more so, because it's the day when people
exchange gifts.'
