EuroMold exceeds expectations of OPEN MIND
(PresseBox) - CAM/CAD developer OPEN MIND Technologies AG had far more visitors to its trade fair stand at EuroMold than expected based on experience from previous years. The proportion of users and interested parties with specific questions was also very high. The new features in version 2013.2 are mainly related to hyperCAD®-S, the CAD component of the hyperMILL® CAM suite, and were very positively received.
hyperCAD®-S serves as a user interface and import interface all the way from design to CAM right through to the machines. Visitors to the stand were extremely positive about the practical measures introduced by OPEN MIND developers to reduce workload, which include recognition of double entities and reversible selection in the suite's CAD component.
More roughing
We received many inquiries concerning the hyperMAXX® roughing module. Further accelerating mould manufacture was an issue on many EuroMold visitors' minds. OPEN MIND's solution for high-performance cutting pushes machines to their limits in such a way that ideally distributed milling paths and the dynamic feedrate adjustment to existing cutting conditions ensure that milling can always take place at the fastest possible feedrate. Material removal, machine data, the material to be cut and balanced movement are taken into account when calculating the hyperMAXX® tool path. The latter point was the subject of a number of presentations at the stand. OPEN MIND believes it is an important task of CAM to reduce stress on the machines and tools with full dynamics to a minimum by using gentle movements.
