Hämmerling Group relies on tennis player Mona Barthel
In order to increase global awareness and open up new business areas, Paderborn-based Hämmerling Group will increasingly rely on sports marketing in 2014. The group has a workforce of 400 and includes many different businesses and service providers from the tyre and logistics industries. It concluded initial one-year sponsoring contract with German top tennis player Mona Barthel. The 23-year old athlete is presently number 39 in the world rankings. In all of the international tournaments she will be wearing clothes showing the logos of the enterprise and of the group's own "Athos" truck tyre brand.
In addition, there will be activities initiated via website and press.
(firmenpresse) - Ralf Hämmerling, managing director of the group which is located in Eastern Westphalia expects the sponsoring agreement to give their international business development a clear impetus. As an international Top 30 player 23-year old Barthel is globally present and due to her world rankings position she will be playing in all of the high-profile Grand Slam tournaments.
Hämmerling says: "Wherever Mona Barthel appears, we will be present, too. With our name and our products. As an international tyre wholesaler producing our own truck remoulds, and as a shipping company with five sites in Europe we are sure that Mona's presence will perfectly bring us to the front." Besides, she is the daughter of Ralf Barthel, former European shot-put champion, and her personality is perfectly matching the successful family business. "Mona is an achiever, but first of all she is modest and down-to-earth. These characteristics exactly represent the values we are living," says managing director Hämmerling.
A professional tennis player since 2009
Mona Barthel was born in Bad Segeberg/Germany. After completing her Abitur in 2009 she started a professional tennis career. At the French Open in 2011 she reached the main draw of a Grand-Slam tournament for the first time. She won the Hobart International in Australia in 2012 and reached the quarterfinals in Stuttgart (Germany). Then in 2013, she won not only the Paris Indoor Tournament, but also the Doubles in Stuttgart where she partnered Sabine Lisicki. Barthel is a regular member of the Fed Cup team, which is the German women's national tennis team. At the present Australian Open she is the only German player, besides Angelique Kerber, who is still present in the tournament (status of 15 January 2014).
Hämmerling Group and Mona Barthel have concluded their agreement for one year as a start, (prolongation possible).
