EnviTec Biogas continues to experience dynamic performance in the third
quarter
- Third quarter sales increased to EUR 45.9 million
- EBIT after one-off effects at EUR 0.5 million
- With EUR 255.8 million, order backlog remains at a very high level
- Positive result expected for full year 2010
Lohne, 22 November 2010 - As in the second quarter of 2010, EnviTec Biogas
AG [ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8] continued to experience dynamic performance in the
period from July to September. Europe's leading manufacturer of biogas
plants increased sales to EUR 45.9 million in the third quarter, up 44%
over the strong previous quarter (Q2 2010: EUR 33.2 million). The company
managed to return to profitability, posting an operating result (EBIT) of
EUR 0.5 million. However, one-off effects in the Plant Construction segment
amounting to EUR 2.5 million prevented us from achieving a better result.
Group revenues of EnviTec Biogas for the first nine months rose from EUR
77.3 million to EUR 100.3 million, up 29.8% compared to the prior-year
period. All business segments contributed to growth. EBIT improved from EUR
-4.0 million to EUR -1.0 million. Loss before minority interests declined
from EUR 1.2 million to EUR 0.7 million. 'We are currently working almost
at full capacity', said Jörg Fischer, the company's CFO. 'This should have
a positive impact on our fourth quarter figures, in particular on
earnings.'
Large order backlog as an excellent basis for continued growth
Continued growth is based on the large order backlog and the consistent
level of new order intake. At the end of September, EnviTec Biogas had
orders worth EUR 255.8 million in place, highlighting the ongoing strong
demand for biogas plants. Orders come from across all customer groups, from
farmers to professional energy suppliers. Accordingly, the company is not
dependent on individual major projects. Germany still remains the largest
market for EnviTec Biogas, but Italy and France, in particular, are
increasingly developing into significant growth drivers. Roel Slotman,
board member in charge of international sales at EnviTec Biogas AG said:
'We began early on and consistently pushed ahead with the
internationalisation of our business. We continue to benefit from this
development.' International customers account for 35.9% of the order volume
as of 30 September.
For the full year 2010, EnviTec Biogas expects sales of more than EUR 145
million and an EBIT of more than EUR 1.0 million. The growth in sales and
profit is expected to continue in 2011. BioEnergy Decentral, the global
industry meeting place for decentralized energy supply held in Hanover
through 19 November, strengthened our confidence that demand in 2011 will
remain strong. Jörg Fischer: 'We were surprised by the intense interest in
Germany and abroad and look forward to a successful next year.'
