KG, based in Frechen near Cologne, has now begun to market the new Visa
prepaid card product of Wirecard Bank AG at Esso service stations in
Germany. To begin with, the mywirecard 2go Visa will be prominently
featured in a Christmas promotion, along with three other prepaid products
covering music downloads, telephony and online videos.
Lekkerland is a Europe-wide convenience wholesaler, supplying over 59,000
outlets in Germany alone, including service stations, department stores and
kiosks.
With the introduction of innovative products in its electronic value (e-va)
sector, the Lekkerland range comprises a selection of payment, SIM, gift
and prepaid cards from different providers, including mywirecard 2go Visa.
Lekkerland provides its customers with a terminal for reloading cards
issued by virtually all prepaid mobile phone providers and similar prepaid
services.
mywirecard 2go Visa is the first prepaid Visa card available in Germany
that allows customers to purchase the card at the point of sale (PoS), top
it up in real time and then use it in stores as well as online. The card
can also be topped up electronically at around 20,000 service stations and
shops using the e-va terminal.
Consumers buying mywirecard 2go Visa have a choice: once they have bought
it and topped it up, they can either use the card themselves or give it to
someone as a gift. The mywirecard 2go Visa is ready for use the moment it
is activated. Top-ups can be purchased either at the e-va terminal at the
