Car Batteries

technologically advanced starter batteries for motor vehicles is pleased to
report having successfully certified its ECO batteries with the TÜV
Rheinland technical control board. The results of the TÜV's examination and
testing confirm the remarkable efficiency and capabilities of the
innovative ECO starter batteries with their ingenious automatic electrolyte
mixing feature, which permits a smaller inventory of lead with no
compromise in starter-battery performance. The savings in raw materials not
only reduce the weight of the battery, but also the amount of CO2 emissions
generated throughout the entire product life cycle.
TÜV Rheinland first examined and tested the most in-demand size of the type
iQ Power ECO 45 battery. This battery, which iQ Power designed to have a
nominal capacity of only 34 Ah, achieved measured values of more than 50 Ah
in the TÜV Rheinland test, and thus exceeded the DIN (EN) standard's values
for batteries having a nominal capacity of 45 Ah. A comparison shows the
importance of electrolyte mixing: Without this electrolyte-mixing
technology, the tested ECO 45 batteries would have only had a capacity of
about 36 Ah to 40 Ah.
The operational life and cycle stability ratings for the ECO 45 were
similarly impressive. The values for these were significantly better than
required by the standard, and in the case of cycle stability exceeded those
of comparable products on the market. Even the cold cranking current of the
iQ Power ECO 45, the most important factor for starting the car, greatly
exceeded the manufacturer's specifications stated on the battery. The ECO
45, with its low water consumption of a mere one gram per Ah, has earned
the choice accreditation of being 'absolutely maintenance free.'
The extensive tests were performed according to the provisions of the
currently valid, yet no longer state-of-the-art, standards EN 50342-1 and
EN 50342-2. Their strictly static measurement methods were supplemented in
the simulator by the generation of those kinds of dynamic driving movements
that commonly occur when actually operating an automobile.
Conclusion: The iQ Power ECO 45 starter battery exceeds all of the
requirements set forth in the standard thanks to its overall design and the
integrated efficiency of electrolyte mixing. The iQ Power ECO 45 rates a
higher performance in comparison to a conventional starter battery with a
nominal capacity of 45 Ah. This, together with the outstanding value for
the money, makes ECO batteries from iQ Power the first choice.
Certification by the TÜV Rheinland of all the other of the total 10
different battery sizes in the iQ Power ECO-type family (from the ECO 35 to
the ECO 100) is projected to be completed by the end of January. All of
these batteries have the same design and technology as the ECO 45. This
makes iQ Power the first battery manufacturer to ever have its batteries
certified by the TÜV.

institution as the TÜV Rheinland confirm publicly for the first time the
exceptionally good performance figures of our ECO batteries as determined
by an independent board. All of the values are significantly better than
those required by the standard,' pointed out Charles Robert Sullivan, the

right in line with the very good findings in tests conducted by independent
third-parties in the past. At the same time, these test results also refute
all those voices on the market that intentionally raised doubts about the
effectiveness of our technology,' added Sullivan.
