"Creating the future" in mathematics, informatics, natural science and technology

(PresseBox) - Under the motto "Digitalization and Industry 4.0 - Challenges for MINT Education and Talent", the city of Leipzig is hosting the 7th MINT Day in the New Town Hall on 3 April 2014. Event organizer is the initiative "MINT Zukunft schaffen" (MINT Creating the Future); the initials stand for the educational fields of mathematics, informatics, natural science and technology. Adyton Systems, the next-generation firewall manufacturer, is taking part as a Leipzig-based company and supports the initiative's purpose.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness for the importance of professional education in the MINT fields. According to statements by "MINT Zukunft schaffen", the MINT fields form the basis of the German business model with its strong focus on industry. The initiative campaigns for improved MINT education in schools and universities and thus for an improvement of businesses' ability to compete and innovate.
Companies like Adyton Systems also depend on further education in the MINT fields. Adyton Systems GmbH is a Leipzig-based technology company that provides solutions in the field of corporate IT security - primarily next-generation firewalls for the protection of sensitive corporate data. The company supports MINT Day 2014 and will be exhibiting in the "Markt der Möglichkeiten" (Market of Possibilities) area in Leipzig New Town Hall. Among others, Anne-Cathrin Burwitz, Human Resources Manager at Adyton Systems, will take part in the plenary discussion on the topic "Top Technology: Challenges for MINT Education and Talent". "For several years, we at the MINT initiative have been committed to cultivating and expanding our network of talent on a regional and national level. With respect to recruitment, the event presents us with a great opportunity to confer with MINT ambassadors about experiences and challenges", explains Burwitz.
"A company's ability to compete depends on its technological competence - and good education in the fields of mathematics, informatics, natural science and technology naturally form the foundation of this competence", explains Klaus Mochalski, CEO of Adyton Systems GmbH. "In the future, we at Adyton Systems will also need to have recourse to a professionally educated workforce in order to continue to exist and innovate.
