London-Domains start at April 29

London-Domains are open to anyone

(PresseBox) - The London-Domains will have three phases: Sunrise Period for Trademark Owners, London Priority Period and General Availability.
Sunrise and London Priority Period both open on April 29, 2014 at 16:00 GMT, will run for 90 days, and are application based (i.e., not first come first served).
London Priority Period is open to anyone but priority will be given to London-based applicants. Applicants for the same domain name will be validated by an independent validator to determine priority level.
The General Availability opens on September 9, 2014 at 11:00 GMT.
London & Partners predict that london-domains will:"
-Create new employment opportunities in the city
-Expand the city?s brand by providing a new way to promote London
-Develop opportunities for marketing and business for non-profits as well as private businesses"
London-domains can better represent the British capital on the Internet. Anyone can bring immediately the owner of a London-Domain in connection with London. Numerous domains contain "london" as a part of the web address. The London Zoo, for example, is presenting currently its services at the URL http://www.zsl.org/zsl-london-zoo/. A web address like www.zoo.london would be easier und shorter.
