Group presents mobile charging device SunCharger at the GSMA Mobile World
Congress 2011 in Barcelona
In February SolarWorld AG will present the solar charging device SunCharger
at one of the world's largest mobile radio exhibitions. With this new and
aesthetically appealing product the solar power group makes it possible to
recharge mobile telephones reliably - also far away from the mains. The
SunCharger combines the mains unit, the rechargeable battery and the solar
cell rolled into one and offers three possibilities of charging the mobile
phone: The phone either draws the electricity from the mains, gets the
stored energy from the battery or is directly charged by solar power. With
this SunCharger SolarWorld AG expands its product range for small everyday
applications thus striving for higher brand awareness in additional target
groups.
'The SolarWorld SunCharger is the small-format solar power plant that shows
what solar power can make possible: generating your own electricity
independently and everywhere for your own personal needs,' says Dr.-Ing. E.
h. Frank Asbeck, Chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG. 'And if there is no
wall socket available the solar cell and the battery provide a safe and
clean power supply.'
SunCharger will be presented for the first time at the GSMA Mobile World
Congress in Barcelona, Spain, from 14 to 17 February 2011. The charging
device has the size of an iPhone and is equipped with mono-crystalline high
performance cells that convert sunlight into power. The device is designed
as a slider so that the solar cell area can be doubled if necessary. In
direct sun radiation the integrated solar cell can generate enough
electricity for a full charge. The SunCharger meets the criteria of the new
EU directive for mobile phones so it offers a high level of compatibility.
