Greenworld Wind Power Co. Ltd. (Greenworld Wind): Deutsche Börse symbol:
GWD (www.greenworldpower.ca), announced today that it has applied for
permission to build a tidal power generation project within the Aurora
Pacific Eco Zone. It has made initial enquiries to the administration of
the special economic zone, located in Aurora Province on the Eastern
coastal area of Luzon.
The Federal Government established the Special Economic Zone in 2007 under
the Republic Act number 9490. It is the only special economic zone on the
Eastern side of Luzon. The eco zone is being developed as a green project
that will use environmentally friendly technologies in both the
infrastructure elements as well as providing significant incentives for all
businesses located there to practice environmentally friendly processes
wherever possible.
The Company envisions building a 2-3 MW project offshore that will capture
energy from the flow of the tide just offshore. The Company will be
further evaluating the most appropriate and cost-effective technological
approach from a shortlist of 3 different Companies that have developed
different technologies to achieve power generation from tidal forces.
