The Sloss Furnace was built in 1881 as a pig iron-producing blast furnace that, as history tells it, injured and even claimed the lives of many workers. Incinerated workers, carbon monoxide poisonings and exploding steam pipes are just a few of the gruesome events that reportedly occurred in the notoriously haunted location that houses the souls of the victims.
The Sloss Furnace was featured in Season 6 of the hit TV reality show Ghost Hunters, as Adam Berry and Amy Bruni explored the location with some frightning findings.
