Munich, March 2, 2011 - All calls placed through 118000 from a fixed
network are now free of charge for callers, regardless of whether they
connect to a cellular or fixed network. With this new offer, 118000 is
putting an end to the claim that added-value telephone services are far too
expensive. 'A fair price model should be an intrinsic part of a modern
telephone service. We are working on lower the cost of calls put through
from cell phone networks too, said Dr. Klaus Harisch, CEO of 118000.
Calls made to 118000 from a fixed network cost EUR 1.59 for each of the
first two minutes, which is much lower than the classic German directory
assistance services.
118000 connects caller with each other. Unpublished contact details are
never revealed to third parties. Consumers who do not want to disclose
their private data in public directories can use 118000 as their contact
number. This way, their personal phone numbers are kept secret but they can
still accept telephone calls at any time. The 118000 service can connect to
more numbers for registered subscribers than a traditional directory
service.
Calls made to 118000 from the fixed network cost EUR 1.59 for each of the
first two minutes and are free for each additional minute.
