In the opinion of the author Markus Eder, the chief factors are the misguided neoliberal creed of the past decades, the misguided environmental policies both in the USA and the European Union, the deficient minority policies in the USA and the premature establishment of the European Currency Euro. Eder argues that, comparable to the West Roman Empire of the fourth and fifth centuries A.D., the United States will fall apart within the next 100 years. For the European Union he is more optimistic, but nevertheless argues, that a socialist revolution comparable to that of the Portuguese Revolution of the 1970s will occure before Europe will find back onto the road of social, political and economic recovery.
Although written in German, this book might be of interest to academic libraries in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia. Some oversea intellectuals familiar with the German Language might consider it rewarding reading, too.
