Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 9 March 2011 - The strategic realignment in Roth&Rau's turnkey business, accompanied by a change in the range of services
offered, has been very well received by the market. The company has managed
to acquire its first order based on the new turnkey model from a well-known
Indian telecommunications company. This order, worth around EUR 6 million,
includes an equipment package and a technology package. In the equipment
package, Roth&Rau will be supplying production systems based exclusively
on proprietary products for the process stages of antireflective coating,
diffusion and firing. The further systems required will be procured by the
customer directly from the relevant manufacturers. The technology package
includes all key services, from project management via the ramping up of
the complete production line through to process optimisation until the
desired level of cell quality is attained. 'This first major order confirms
that we have taken the right course with our strategic realignment in the
turnkey business. We have significantly reduced our risks in this area,
thus creating a basis for profitably exploiting our turnkey expertise',
explained Dr. Dietmar Roth, CEO of Roth&Rau AG.
The high level of demand for SiNA series antireflective coating systems has
also continued unabated. New orders worth around EUR 27 million in total
were signed at the '5th SNEC PV Power Expo' fair held in Shanghai at the
end of February. Not only that, the company also received letters of intent
for orders worth a further EUR 52.5 million. The success of the second
generation of SiNA systems has been driven in particular by their operating
costs, which are significantly more favourable than those offered by
competitors' products.
