Evolution of testing and updates for “mental software”: Software-QS-Tag with keynote speeches from Martin Pol and Jürgen Balhuber
Moehrendorf, 29 August 2014 – Successful adaptation to changing requirements – this is the basic theme that both keynote speeches at this year’s Software-QS-Tag have in common. The two lectures are presented by Martin Pol and Jürgen Balhuber.
(firmenpresse) - In “The Evolution of Testing” Martin Pol, for decades one of the most internationally influential testers will cast a view to the changes of the software tester profession in the course of time. Starting from a consideration of software development’s “pioneer days”, when the different crafts worked closely together to find the initial solutions. These were followed by a standardization period, which constituted the basis for increasing specialization and professionalization. It offered the flexibility enabling testers to cope with new technological innovations and various IT hypes.
Martin Pol forges a bridge to further developments that will be in store for the testing sector and what this means for the role of the software tester in particular.
Software in the figurative sense – that is the human brain – is the topic of Jürgen Balhuber’s presentation. The personality coach explains in his German-language lecture “’Mentale Software’ auf dem Prüfstand” according to which rules the brain was “programmed” and what the consequences are.
Jürgen Balhuber’s credo is: When you know, how information processing works and how it can be modified, you’ll get able to co-control your own behavior, emotions and decisions – also in your role as testing expert within the project environment. He makes a case for a “program update” of the testers’ mental software and provides specific proposals for the realization.
Software-QS-Tag 2014 takes place in Nuremberg on 6th and 7th November. Roughly 60 international speakers present solution processes, organisation models and best practices under the banner of the umbrella topic “Test Organisation state of the Art”.
