TOM TAILOR expands retail network in Austria

Hamburg, May 4, 2011. The lifestyle company TOM TAILOR is expanding its
Austrian retail network. On 1 April, the TOM TAILOR Group took over 51
percent of the TOM TAILOR Retail Joint Venture GmbH located in Wörgl from
its long-term distribution partner in Austria, Sagmeister. The objective of
this move is to actively expand the Group's controlled retail space in
Austria and to boost the TOM TAILOR brand there. When the deal is done, the
eight existing TOM TAILOR franchise stores (six in Austria, one in Germany
and one in Switzerland) will be operated as own retail-stores.
'Austria is an important market outside of Germany and we see enormous
growth potential for our brand there. The take-over is crucial to speeding
up our expansion in Austria and to pushing our long-standing distribution
partnership with the company Sagmeister' said Dieter Holzer, CEO of the TOM
TAILOR Group.
TOM TAILOR will hold a 51 percent stake in the subsidiary, with Sagmeister
holding the remaining 49 percent. Founded in 1844, Sagmeister operates
high-end fashion stores in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg in addition to
the TOM TAILOR stores.
With the incorporation of these stores into TOM TAILOR's Retail segment, at
the end of March 2011 the lifestyle company was operating 181 own retail
stores, of which 35 are in Austria. TOM TAILOR plans to open a further 60
to 70 retail stores in the course of the 2011 financial year, primarily in
Germany and in its key markets Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux states and
France.
