New Center Tied to National Pacific Child & Family Associates Network to Fulfill Growing Demand of Services for Families
(firmenpresse) - FAIRFAX, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/30/14 -- (PCFA), a provider of behavior analysis services for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, has announced the opening of their new facility, (ACT), in Fairfax, VA. ACT is now able to help meet the growing need in the Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland regions for in-home behavior analysis services for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Metro area for quality autism treatment services, and in particular, for military families, including members with autism who face unique challenges due to deployment and the stresses placed on the family," said Mark Dorenfeld, CEO and President of ACT and PCFA. ACT provides specialty treatments including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), using evidence-based techniques, to facilitate significant and sustainable improvement for individuals and families dealing with autism spectrum disorders. This process involves systematically applying interventions, based upon the principles of learning theory, to improve socially significant behavior to a meaningful degree. A distinguishing characteristic of ABA is the emphasis on the demonstration of the relationship between treatment interventions and socially significant behavioral change.
ACT has named Susan E. Tirella, M.Ed., BCBA, as Executive Director. Tirella received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master's Degree in Special Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and has been working in the field of ABA since early 2000.
"I am passionate about advocating for parent support and training, and developing meaningful, functional programming for individuals that lead to long-term success," Tirella said. "I'm very excited to be back in the D.C. area to help the growing community in need of our services."
