Transtex EDGE Aerodynamic Suite Covers Commercial Trucks Front, Back and Underneath
(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/02/14 -- Transtex Composite announced the expansion of its family of aerodynamic solutions to include the EDGE Cone™ gap reducer and EDGE Tail™ rear fairing. The new solutions suite provides fuel savings of more than 10 percent and qualifies users for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay Elite program.
"We now provide our customers with one-stop shopping for USA-made aerodynamic solutions that perform better and are easier to install than our competitors," said Marc Bolduc, general manager of Transtex Composite, the industry leader in trailer skirts and other aerodynamic products.
The reduces air turbulence by filling the gap between the tractor and trailer and boosts fuel efficiency by up to 3 percent. Compared with competitor's products, the EDGE Cone has fewer parts, installs more quickly, is made of a puncture-resistant thermoplastic and delivers superior turbulence reduction. Its availability begins November 2014.
The extends from the rear of the trailer to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase fuel efficiency by as much as 4 percent. The EDGE Tail provides carriers with a superior return on investment because of its 30-inch auto-deploying extension, fewer parts and less weight. Its availability begins in the spring of 2015.
According to Bolduc, "Carriers can expect the same superior performance from the EDGE Cone and EDGE Tail as from our trailer skirts. The average carrier will find a suite of solutions will pay for themselves in under a year."
EDGE products will be on display in booth 926 at the American Trucking Association's annual Management Conference and Exhibition in San Diego from October 4-7, 2014.
