BRIC Language Systems Speaks at University of Colorado
BRIC Language Systems Founder & CEO Ryan McMunn Gives Two Electrifying Lectures at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado

(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 10/02/14 -- Founder & CEO, Ryan McMunn, spoke with two University of Colorado classes in September. On Wednesday September 17th Mr. McMunn gave a riveting lecture to Lori Seward's Operations Management class on manufacturing in China. The following day he spoke with Tracy Jennings Individual, Team and Organizational Development course on the skills needed for today's global technology driven economy.
Mr. McMunn started BRIC's philanthropic arm three years ago with his international business scholarship. He was at first wary of publicizing the philanthropy but was urged to make it public in order to encourage others to give back. He says that, "helping people achieve their dreams, is the most rewarding investment a person can make." He has made it a point to develop relationships with each of his first two scholarship winners and believing that it is not only about giving back financially, but also about giving back time. This is precisely why he has also become a part of the Leeds School of Business Mentorship Program where he gives advice and encouragement to aspiring entrepreneur Katie Lewis Founder of
Mr. McMunn believes that, "financial donations are not the only way to give back, giving time and sharing knowledge is also a great way to donate." He encourages others to find ways that they can contribute back to the schools, organizations, and places that have helped them become the person they are today. His talks were passionate, informative, and inspiring according to students.
McMunn spoke of the need for young Americans and college students to globalize not only their attitude, but also their skill sets. In one class stating that, "while the US is the world's largest mix of different cultures, totaling 20% of the entire worlds immigrant population in 2013, only 18% of Americans speak a second language other than English. It is truly remarkable that a country this diverse has such a problem with language education. Especially when it puts us at such a disadvantage in international business and geo-politics."
The main focus of his talks was the need for American college students to differentiate themselves from the 1.85 million other students graduating next spring. "Too many young people spend four years at great universities like the University of Colorado but don't take advantage of the opportunities presented to them. Instead of being a lifeguard for 4 summers during college, they should be getting internships. At the Leeds School of Business there is the mentorship program. Students need to take advantage of these opportunities and find ways to differentiate themselves."
