Hollywood Production Center Announces LA Management Client Marcus Scribner to Star in ABC Sitcom Black-ish and Gears Up for Sharp Focus Media Academy Launch
Actor Known for Role in Castle, Cast for Show About Affluent Black Family Struggling to Understand Collective Identity in Predominantly White Upper-Class Neighborhood; Program Designed to Teach Students How to Write, Shoot and Edit Projects for Real Clients to Start This Month

Marcus Scribner, best known for his role in Castle, will be portraying "Andre Jr." in ABC's Black-ish, with Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishburne co-starring. Meanwhile, Sharp Focus Media Academy is gearing up to represent a "hands-on training center" to teach students how to write, shoot and edit "real projects for real clients."
Always proud to be part of Southern California's renowned entertainment community, Hollywood Production Center representatives were happy to share the news of LA Management's Marcus Scribner and his casting in Black-ish. The sitcom will follow an affluent black family as they struggle to understand their collective identity, with Anthony Anderson playing "Dre," Tracee Elis Ross playing "Rainbow" and Laurence Fishburne portraying the "wise 'ol Pops." The four children in the cast are comprised of young stars that show great promise and talent.
The script of Black-ish will explore dad Andre Johnson (Anderson) and his seemingly perfect life with a family, job and home in the suburbs -- all while he questions whether his cozy lifestyle in the predominantly white upper-class neighborhood made his family "too assimilated." With a little inspiration from "Pops," Dre tries to regain a sense of "cultural identity" for him and his family.
Black-ish is set to take on a Wednesday night slot at 9:30 pm on ABC.
In keeping the creativity always flowing, Hollywood Production Center also announced Sharp Focus Media Academy's program launch, which is a hands-on "training center" that teaches students how to write, shoot and edit "real projects for real clients" -- all at an affordable price. The program is scheduled to begin this month, and the Creative Director has reported already setting up computers, cameras, lights and other necessary hardware in a creative work space so that students can begin enrolling in the monthly workshop.
Taking advantage of some of Hollywood Production Center's , a three-week intensive production program is divided into three distinct industry production phases, offering training in pre-production, principle photography and post-production. Unlike most "dime-a-dozen" short films, say Sharp Focus Media Academy representatives, the final product yielded by students of this program can be added to a professional experience resume. Further, classes are taught by a rotating group of industry professionals who remain up-to-date by constantly working in the field.
