Roth&Rau AG takes over production assets of Possehl Electronics in China:
- Consistent with 2011 target to further expand service&spare part
business in Asia, including creation of resources for the production and
procurement of spare parts in China
- Increase presence in growing Chinese market

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 24 May 2011 - Roth&Rau AG has taken over a
production site of the Lubeck based Possehl Group (Possehl) in, Shenzhen,
China. Alongside production facilities including related equipment, Roth&Rau is also taking over around 145 highly-trained employees. The parties
have agreed to maintain confidentiality concerning the purchase price.
With its Electronic Division, Possehl is one of the world's leading
manufacturers of lead frames for the semiconductor industry. In addition,
Possehl is an important manufacturer of smart cards and a supplier for
manufacturers of plug in connectors. Possehl employs some 2,000 staff
around the world in it's Electronic Division. At its Shenzhen production
site it mainly produces high quality precision tools and parts for the
global semiconductor market.
The Roth&Rau Group intends to use the existing infrastructure and
available expertise to further expand its spare parts and service business
as planned in the dynamically growing photovoltaics market in Asia.
