Simi Valley, CA, USA - A Chicago office of an international Fortune 500
third-party logistics provider has just completed the first stage of a
lighting retrofit that helps contribute to the company's core mission of
sustainability and greatly reduces energy costs.
In March, the office's trading floor and subterranean parking garage
lighting was replaced with low-wattage Seesmart, Inc. LED lighting
products. A total of 449 metal halide lights of 200 to 250 Watts were
replaced with Seesmart LEDs of 24 to 50 Watts. LEDs now light 147,000
square feet of the building and have dramatically improved lighting quality
in the facility. Only the building's offices and cafeteria have yet to be
retrofitted.
The new LEDs produce an annual energy savings of $109,000 and are so
efficient that they will pay for themselves within a year: 11.5 months, in
fact. The lighting retrofit has also produced remarkable environmental
savings for the logistics company by cutting the company's carbon footprint
by over 874,000 lbs of CO2 per year.

over $9 billion and over 230 offices around the world, so this retrofit
scratches the surface of the potential environmental and financial savings
