(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/13/14 -- The Chicago premiere of Charles Ives Take Me Home was running at the Strawdog Theatre in Lakeview. This new play by Jessica Dickey is an emotional drama that is at once light and powerful. The play features the iconic American composer as a mediator between a father and daughter whose different interests create a deep emotional divide. It ran through June 21 with performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm and on Sunday at 4pm.
Strawdog Theatre Company was founded in 1988, and from its 70-seat home in Lakeview, the company is dedicated to an innovative approach to theater that includes developing new work, reinterpreting classics, and exploring evocative combinations of theater and music, all with the goal of keeping the audience off-balance, engaged, and thinking. The current production was reviewed well by both the Sun-Times and the Tribune.
