2G continues to chart record course

Heek, June 14, 2011 - 2G-Bio-Energietechnik AG (2G), one of Germany's
leading manufacturers of combined heat and power (CHP) plants, has
succeeded in further expanding foreign business. Over the course of the
past months, orders were gained in Japan, Lithuania and Russia. While the
order from Russia only involves a 100 KW plant, it represents the first
order from this country. The orders placed from Japan and Lithuania already
comprise considerable volumes. Here too, 2G had initially entered the
markets with orders for small plants as currently in Russia. In addition,
the US sales company 2G-CENERGY Power Systems Technologies Inc. is
reporting a gratifying rise in orders on the books.
Successful foreign business expansion
4 CHP plants with an order volume of EUR 1.3 million were sold to Japan.
The orders received from Lithuania involve 5 plants valued at just under
EUR 1.5 million, whereby the plants will be shipped in the next days.
Up to the end of May, 2G-CENERGY, the US sales company 2G-Ce, gained orders
amounting to some USD 5.7 million. One of the projects represents the first
dry fermentation biogas plants in the entire United States.
Positive business developments
According to preliminary figures, 2G has generated earnings before tax and
interest of around EUR 0.4 million on the back of revenues of just under
EUR 12 million, posting Q1 profit for the first time in the history of the
company. Against the backdrop of the very strong business developments in
the course of the year, the Management Board regards this result as proof
of the further growth and effectiveness of measures geared to achieving
more balanced capacity utilization in the course of the year.
Apart from the successful first quarter, management is also taking an
optimistic view of the further course of the year in view of the current
orders on the books. To date, orders on hand amount to 333 plants
comprising a total volume of EUR 77 million.
With regard to the further course of the 2011 business year the 2G
Management Board maintains its forecast of achieving further growth and
once again presenting record results. Revenue growth of around 25 to 30
percent over the previous year is anticipated, in connection with a
disproportionately strong improvement of earnings.
In addition to rising foreign demand, 2G is optimistic that the company
will benefit on the domestic market from the current reversal in Germany's
energy policies and that in future combined heat and power and 2G products
are well positioned to play an even more significant role in Germany energy
mix. In this context, members of the Management Board were informed in the
course of personaltalks with policymakers that the natural gas fired BHKW
cogeneration modules are to receive stronger promotion and support. With
this step, the key role that combined heat and power plants could play as a
major element in the energy supply of the future may soon benefit from
strong political support.
