October 21, 2014 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the world's leading natural and
built asset design and consultancy firm, announced today that together with
Swedish peer company Sweco it is performing a feasibility study for two flood
barriers in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. The client for this study is the
City of Gothenburg. No financial details were disclosed.

Gothenburg is often plagued by flood events. The danger comes from the sea, as
well as from the river Göta which runs through the city. The study therefore
focuses on possibly installing two flood barriers. One to be positioned on the
sea-side, the other upstream at a fork in the river Göta.

The study should be finalized by the end of this year. The combination ARCADIS-
Sweco was selected in a public bidding process, in part due to ARCADIS'
experience in flood barrier design. Especially the work performed by ARCADIS in
New Orleans and more recently the work on the flood barrier in Nieuwpoort,
Belgium were reasons for the client to select us.

"There is growing international interest in our water management know-how",
according to Gert Kroon, who leads the ARCADIS activities in the Netherlands.
"We are experiencing an increase in the effects of climate change. Thanks to our
extensive water management expertise, we are able to address these challenges."
