COR&FJA acquires a new customer in Norway
Frende Livsforsikring AS operates the COR.FJA Insurance Suite in ASP
(Leinfelden-Echterdingen, 12 July 2011) - COR&FJA AG, the software and
consulting company, has been commissioned by Frende Livsforsikring AS,
Bergen, the Norwegian life and pensions insurance company, to implement and
manage a range of components from the COR.FJA Insurance Suite. The letter
of intent (LOI) was signed a few days ago; final confirmation from Frende's
supervisory board is expected in the third quarter of this year. Frende
Livsforsikring's current insurance portfolio, including all current and
future life and pension products, will be managed using the COR.FJA
Insurance Suite. The new software will be implemented step by step until
2013 and the portfolio migrated. The contract value of this first stage of
the project in euros involves a mid-seven-digit figure. Once the migration
has been completed, COR&FJA will take over all the IT operations and
maintenance for at least five years. As part of this co-operation, the
COR.FJA Insurance Suite will be provided in Application Service Providing
(ASP) mode and run on a central COR&FJA infrastructure. COR&FJA has the
overall responsibility that the operation of the application functions
smoothly.
In the run-up to the ultimate decision, Frende Livsforsikring had compared
various software solutions. In this connection, the company also asked
current COR&FJA clients and gained an impression of the excellent quality
of the respective implementation and reliable operations. With the COR.FJA
Insurance Suite, Frende Livsforsikring has opted for a comprehensive and
integrated solution for all its insurance products, including both
traditional and unit-linked group as well as individual insurances. The
modal approach of the COR.FJA Insurance Suite was also one of the deciding
factors in 2008, when Frende chose the COR.FJA Merica component for its
medical and professional risk assessments; as part of the latter
co-operation, this component was implemented on schedule - and at a lower
cost than previously budgeted for.
Frende is a co-operation of 14 banks in Norway. At present, the current
portfolios of life and pension insurances are being revised at the
participating banks. The actual challenge lies in bringing all of the
respective segments together into one technical environment. Here too,
COR&FJA's long-term experience in migration projects involving large
volumes of life assurance portfolios was a key criterion for Frende
Livsforsikring's decision.
The COR.FJA Insurance Suite is a cross-sector solution for insurance
companies. It composes upgradable and highly configurable standard software
components and completely covers all the relevant business processes of an
insurance company. The high-level parameterisation and the modern,
service-oriented technology mean products and processes can be quickly
adapted to react without delay to the demands of customers and markets.
The components of the COR.FJA Insurance Suite can be combined to meet
customer-specific needs, or used as stand-alone services. Other COR.FJA
modules, individual enhancements and software components from third-partyproviders can be integrated via the existing standard interfaces. This
enables each customer to set up an IT environment specifically to meet its
own needs.
