VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA CANADA -- (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) -- July 12, 2011
Big Rock Resources Inc. (1BR.F, ISIN CA0894851066, WKN A1JJYB
http://bigrockresources.com) announced today that Big Rock Resources and
its Joint Venture partner, Siga Resources Inc. (OTCBB:SGAE) are well
underway with the initial planned evaluation program on the Lucky Thirteen
Gold Placer Property near Hope, British Columbia.
Mr. Ken Van Boeyen and Mr. Charles Irizarry, directors of Big Rock
Resources, along with Mr. Ed Morrow and Mr. Robert Malasek, directors of
Siga Resources, visited the Lucky Thirteen Placer Gold Property on June 10,
2011, and were very impressed with the progress that has been made on
property preparations.
Mr. Peter Osha, of Triple O Contracting, the mining contractor/operator on
the property for the Joint Venture took the directors on a tour of the
Lucky Thirteen Placer Gold Property on June 10, 2011. With full Government
of British Columbia permitting being granted in January, 2011, work has now
commenced on the Lucky Thirteen Project. A road from the Trans-Canada
Highway to the project through steep mountainous terrain has been completed
and the railroad crossing has been completed by Canadian Pacific Railway
allowing full access to the property. The Joint Venture expects heavy
equipment to be moved onto the main part of the property to begin
preparation for clearing areas on a grid that will allow for large scale
bulk sampling.
Mr. Osha has informed the JV Partners, Big Rock Resources and Siga
Resources that the initial recovery system will be ready to be moved to the
project within 2 weeks with testing of the system to begin shortly
thereafter.
The recovery equipment is designed not only to recover a very large portion
of the Gold contained on the property but to recover a large portion of the
Platinum Metals that previous sampling has discovered along with the Gold
on the property.
Physical work in the first weeks of June, 2011, in preparation for the
planned bulk sampling program has included the following:
- Completion of a rail road crossing over the Canadian Pacific tracks
- Completion of the access road clean-up and reconstruction
- The placer testing plant is 90% completed and being prepared for delivery
to the project in the next two weeks
- Support equipment is currently being delivered to the project site.
The Joint Venture plans a 60 to 90 test program involving excavated bulk
sampling in up to 12 test pits. The program is designed to verify the gold
content as reported by earlier operators and provide samples for process
design to optimize recovery for the mining campaign planned by the
partners. Reports from earlier evaluation and operation indicates the
gravels on the bar may contain mineable gold grades of approximately .05
ounces per cubic yard.
The companies are looking forward to initial recovery results and will keep
its shareholders updated as the results are forthcoming.
