Joyou AG introduces environmentally friendly lead-free brass for
sanitary ware products

Frankfurt am Main, 21 July 2011. Joyou AG, a leading bathroom solution
supplier in China, reports a major break-through in the field of high-tech
production and eco-friendly sanitary products. In cooperation with Fujian
University of Technology, Joyou has successfully developed a low-cost,
lead-free brass production process to be used in the manufacturing of its
brass based sanitary ware products. Joyou received the 'Lead Free Faucet
Production' certificate from the Chinese National Research Centre for
Environmental Analysis and Testing.
'We have consistently adhered to our policy of combining high-quality
sanitary ware products with the creation of an eco-friendly environment. I
am very proud that with this innovation Joyou can demonstrate its position
as an innovative environmental protection leader in the Chinese sanitary
ware industry,' states Jianshe CAI, CEO of Joyou AG.
The technology developed uses Bithum as a replacement for Lead in brass
production, making the products not only environmentally friendly but also
giving Joyou a significant marketing edge. Currently, there is a shift away
from using lead in the production process in the international market due
to environmental and health concerns of lead contamination in drinking
water.
The R&D in partnership with Fujian University of Technology took 24 months
with strong governmental support and subsidies. The innovation is believed
to be the first such break through amongst Joyou's local competitors.
In 2011 the new lead free brass will be used in the production starting
with bathroom faucets from the Rona Series, Funjoy Series and also some
kitchen faucets.
For its green concepts for manufacturing, product functions and its
high-quality and eco-friendly products, Joyou has been honoured with awards
like 'China Green Faucet', 'National Free Inspection Quality', 'Superb
Product Quality' and the 'Golden Partner'. These awards were issued by the
National Research Centre for Environmental Analysis and Measurement'.
