San Francisco Compounding Pharmacy Promotes Community Health and Wellness With Summer Lecture Series
Koshland Pharm: Custom Compounding Pharmacy Completes Public, Health-Based Lecture Series Featuring Bay Area Physicians -- Presentations Now Available for Online Viewing
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/12/14 -- Koshland Pharm: Custom Compounding Pharmacy recently completed its first public lecture series this summer, drawing in a crowd of nearly 60 Bay Area participants.
The successful "Summer Health Lecture Series" was comprised of three, two-hour presentations which covered a variety of health topics and featured knowledgeable Bay Area health care providers.
The series was kicked off by Peter Koshland, PharmD, owner of Koshland Pharm, whose presentation, entitled "The ABC's of OTC's" provided attendees with information on how to choose quality over the counter (OTC) products, including vitamins and supplements. The next presentation in the series, "Mind over Menopause: Maintaining health through perimenopause and beyond," featured Lisa Brent, ND of Marin Natural Medicine. The series concluded with "Testosterone: Media, myths and medical facts," which was presented by Dr. Karron Power, MD of Power MD.
"Patients often come to our pharmacy asking for advice about hormone replacement therapy and about which vitamins we recommend," explained Peter Koshland. "These questions guided the topics chosen for the Summer Health Lecture Series."
A significant part of Koshland Pharm's mission is to promote health and wellness to the public. The entire summer series was video recorded in the hopes of reaching more than just Bay Area residents. "When I organized previous events for the pharmacy, many people who lived far away asked for a video version of the presentation," said Lindsey Bourcier, Koshland Pharm Marketing and Outreach Coordinator, and creator of the Summer Health Lecture Series. "By using technology to our advantage and recording these types of lectures, we'll be able to reach a far greater audience; and hopefully spark conversations between patients and their health care providers."
