BorgWarner presents latest transmission technologies at the international CTI Symposium 2014 in Berlin
BorgWarner will Present its Latest Developments in Stop/Start Systems and Wet-Clutch Technology for Increased Efficiency, Shift Performance and Fuel Economy
(firmenpresse) - Auburn Hills, Michigan, November 20, 2014 – BorgWarner will showcase its transmission advancements in stop/start systems and its leading wet-clutch technology at the 13th International Car Training Institute (CTI) Symposium, “Automotive Transmissions, HEV and EV Drives,” to be held in Berlin, Germany, December 8 - 11, 2014. In addition to two technical presentations, BorgWarner will display a wide range of its state-of-the-art transmission and all-wheel drive technologies at booth F08 at the accompanying Transmission Expo. With about 1,200 participants from over 20 countries, the International CTI Symposium is considered the most important forum for the latest developments in automotive transmissions.
“We are proud to attend the CTI Symposium in 2014 as presenter, exhibitor and sponsor,” said Robin Kendrick, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Transmission Systems. “Improving the efficiency of the drivetrain is a key objective for automakers around the world. BorgWarner’s advanced transmission and all-wheel drive technologies contribute to enhanced performance, improved fuel economy and a more comfortable driving experience.”
BorgWarner’s first presentation demonstrates how temperature simulations can predict the durability and performance of wet clutches. With these simulations, BorgWarner is able to reduce the overall flow provided to the clutch, resulting in reduced drag loss and improved efficiency. The second presentation addresses the integration of stop/start systems with automatic transmissions. BorgWarner’s innovative design solution employs a hydraulic accumulator as an alternative to an electric auxiliary oil pump to meet the unique and demanding control solenoid performance requirements.
BorgWarner will also display a wide range of its state-of-the-art transmission and all-wheel drive technologies at the accompanying Transmission Expo.
