Dr. Perry N. Halkitis, Director of the Center for Health, Identity, Behavior and Prevention Studies, is also a Professor of Applied Psychology, Global Public Health, and Medicine at New York University. He also directs the center for Health, Identity, Behavior and Prevention Studies. Dr. Halkitis has authored several books including Methamphetamine Addiction, Biological Foundations, Psychological Factors, and Social Consequences (APA PRESS) and his newest book, The AIDS Generation: Stories of Survival and Resilience (Oxford), a 2014 Lambda Literary award nominee, and recipient of the American Psychological Association Distinguished Book award in LGBT psychology. Dr. Halkitis also has presented extensively throughout the world to large academic and community audiences and is available for lectures and speaking series on all subjects in relation to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, and all aspects of gay men's health including substance use and mental health.
