Asian Mineral Resources Appoints Non-Executive Director
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/02/14 -- Asian Mineral Resources Limited ("AMR" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: ASN), which owns one of the world's few new sources of nickel, is pleased to announce the appointment of Martyn Buttenshaw as a Non-Executive Director of the Company.
Commenting on the changes, Michael Brown, Chairman of AMR, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mr. Buttenshaw to the Board and look forward to his experience and insight as we continue with the next phase of growth at AMR."
Mr. Buttenshaw is a Vice President with Pala Investments Limited, a substantial shareholder of AMR. He has been involved in a number of Pala's largest investments and has substantial experience working with mining companies on strategy, business growth and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Mr. Buttenshaw has held senior positions with Anglo American and Rio Tinto. He holds an MBA with distinction from the London Business School and a MEng in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London. Mr. Buttenshaw is currently a director of Melior Resources.
Company Profile
AMR owns one of the world's few new sources of nickel sulphide and is spearheading the growth of a new nickel district in Vietnam. AMR commenced commercial production at its Ban Phuc nickel mine and processing facility in mid-2013 and currently produces over 6,400 tonnes of nickel and 3,200 tonnes of copper per annum contained in concentrate, plus a cobalt by-product. Ban Phuc production provides a cash-generative platform allowing AMR to lead the development of a nickel camp within its 150km2 of concessions, located throughout the highly-prolific Song Da rift zone. The Company has in- and near-mine expansion projects, as well as multiple advanced stage exploration targets within trucking distance of the processing facility.
