minuteKEY Expands Its Self-Service Key Duplication Service to 2,500 Convenient Locations
Technology Is Safe and Secure to Help Prevent Keys From Getting Into the Wrong Hands
(firmenpresse) - BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/11/14 -- minuteKEY, the world's first self-service kiosk for accurately duplicating keys, now expands to 2,500 locations making it the largest network of its kind with locations throughout the United States and Canada. The minuteKEY® kiosk is one of the safest and most accurate solutions for key duplication as there is no human interaction and no customer or key pattern data is retained.
"We are delighted to expand minuteKEY's network to 2,500 locations with some of the largest and most respected big box and home improvement retail brands," said Randy Fagundo, CEO of minuteKEY. "Our charter is to make key duplication easy, safe and accurate, and we take pride in not compromising in any of these areas."
The minuteKEY kiosk is easy to use. Consumers simply walk up to the kiosk, and using a touchscreen, insert a home, office or padlock key for duplication, then select the style and number of keys they need. Upon making their payment, new keys are accurately cut in approximately 60 seconds. While the kiosk is simple to use, minuteKEY's patented technology is very sophisticated using advanced robotics, and the latest innovations in electronics and software engineering to ensure accuracy and ease-of-use.
minuteKEY is Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant, which means that certain standards are followed to protect customer payment card data. Unlike other technologies, minuteKEY does not store customer information or key images; only the last four digits of a customer's credit card is stored to recall a transaction for customer service inquiries.
Keys are the second most reported lost item according to a 2012 insurance company survey in Britain. Whether keys are lost or stolen, it's important for consumers to take precautions to help prevent keys from getting into the wrong hands. minuteKEY encourages consumers to follow these preventative measures:
Don't use apps, online or Cloud services to digitally store your keys
Don't leave hidden keys outdoors, rather leave a spare key with a trusted neighbor or friend
If you have multiple keys on a key ring, take your car key off of the ring when turning over your vehicle to valets and service personnel
Don't leave keys unattended at work or in public places where they can be easily stolen or photographed
Never have a copy of your key sent to your home
Put your keys in the same location at home so they can easily be found (but not visible through a front door or window)
Founded in 2008 and based in Boulder, Colo., minuteKEY makes the world's first patented self-service, key duplication kiosk. As innovators in an age-old industry, minuteKEY founders invested several years developing the technology to create a highly accurate, reliable and easy-to-use key-cutting device. Today's kiosk, found in thousands of high-traffic retail locations in the United States and Canada, combines innovations in robotics, electronics and software engineering. minuteKEY is ranked 11th on Inc. magazine's list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for 2014.
