"The 2017 Canada Summer Games will bring significant economic benefits to the Winnipeg host community. The Government of Canada is proud to be a long-standing funding partner of the Canada Games, and remains committed to providing funds for operations and capital costs for staging of the 2017 Games and 100 percent of the travel costs for the out-of-province/territory participants. I am also thrilled that the 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society has determined that a portion of the anticipated federal funding for capital costs will be put toward the Sport for Life Centre project. Congratulations to everyone who worked so tirelessly to make Phase II of the Sport for Life Centre a reality."

-The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages

"We want to ensure sports and physical activities are a life-long part of people's routines. This facility will be a lasting legacy from the 2017 Canada Summer Games for Manitoba, and will support inner-city youth, families, community groups, sport associations and athletes of all abilities for many years to come. Our world-class sports facilities will be showcased during our Year of Sport, showing visitors how Manitoba is truly where 'Canada's Heart Beats.'"

-Ron Lemieux, Manitoba Minister of Tourism, Culture, Heritage, Sport and Consumer Protection
