Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index Reaches Three-Month High in December
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 12/30/14 -- Despite lingering concerns about the economy, millionaire investors boosted the Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) three points to 16, a three-month high in December, Spectrem Group announced today. The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) gained 5 points to 11, also a three-month high.
The indices, compiled by Spectrem Group, a market research and consulting firm specializing in the affluent and retirement markets, measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with more than $1 million of investable assets and $500,000 of investable assets, respectively.
The gain in the December indices was reflective of a more optimistic investor mindset that is compelling Affluent investors to move back into the market. "For the first time in three months, there was a decrease in Affluent investors who indicated that they would hold on the sidelines in the coming month," said George H. Walper, Jr., president of Spectrem Group. "But the modest gains in the indices are also reflective of concerns about the government's artificial stabilization of the economy and what will happen when the Federal Reserve raises interest rates."
The concern expressed about the economy drove down the Spectrem Affluent Household Outlook in December.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI ®) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets. The Index has a margin of error of plus or minus 6.2 percentage points. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI ®) is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
