Nomorobo Goes to Washington to Speak With Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Officials About Robocall Policies
Founder of Free Service Aims to Make It Easier for Carriers to Block Illegal Robocalls

(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 01/21/15 -- Nomorobo, the #1 most popular service for effectively blocking robocalls and telemarketers, is heading to Washington. The free service announced that its founder, Aaron Foss, sat down with key members of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to discuss changes to telecom robocall blocking policies, thereby helping to prevent common phone fraud caused by these illegal robocalls.
In September, that the FCC take steps to make it easier for major telecom companies to implement robocall blocking features into their plans. The goal of the letter was to convince these carriers to integrate existing technology -- such as Nomorobo -- to filter telemarketing and robocalls on behalf of consumers.
On Tuesday, Foss, armed with 20,481 comments from consumers, asked the FCC to clarify to the carriers that they are allowed to provide these tools to stop the robocall epidemic. He spoke with the following high-ranking members of the FCC:
Mark Stone, Deputy Bureau Chief, Consumer and Governmental Affair Bureau
Aaron Garza, Legal Advisor, Consumer and Governmental Affair Bureau
Kurt Schroeder, Chief, Consumer Policy Division
John B. Adams, Deputy Chief, Consumer Policy Division
Kristi Lemoine, Attorney Advisor, Consumer Policy Division
"It's time for big telecom companies to stop hiding behind legal technicalities. Besides being annoying, illegal robocalls have ," said Foss. "Using currently available technology, like Nomorobo, the major carriers can easily protect their customers. With this meeting, hopefully the carriers will be forced to respond to this passionate request from the American people."
As the winner of the 2013 , Nomorobo has effectively unlocked the secret to eliminating robocalls. Nomorobo's technology stops illegal robocalls in their tracks while not affecting legitimate automated calls such as doctor's appointment notifications and school cancellations. Since Nomorobo's public launch, it has blocked more than 15 million illegal robocalls from reaching consumers.
Nomorobo is a free, cloud-based service that effectively blocks illegal robocalls from reaching consumers' phones. Nomorobo employs a technology called "simultaneous ring" that is provided by most VoIP phone companies, that allows incoming calls to be routed to a second telephone line. Nomorobo uses this second line to identify and hang up on illegal robocalls before they can ring through to the consumer. To learn more about Nomorobo, visit .
