Commercial and Light Industrial Leads the Way 32% of Respondents Report No Plans to Hire in Q1

(firmenpresse) - OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/28/15 -- Express Employment Professionals, the United States and Canada's largest franchised staffing company, today released survey results that reveal which sectors plan to hire in the first quarter of 2015. According to the survey of more than 400 businesses, commercial and light industrial will see the most hiring.

Respondents were asked, "In which of the following areas do you plan to hire people in the first quarter?" Thirty-nine per cent reported "commercial and light industrial," 18% said "administrative and office clerical," and 10 per cent said engineering. Fourteen percent reported they were hiring in a sector other than the ones listed, while a full 32 per cent said "none." Full results are below.

"When you're looking for work, it's important to look in the right place. Our latest survey indicates that job seekers may have the best luck in the commercial and light industrial sector - at least in the first quarter of this year," said Bob Funk, CEO of Express, and a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

"It's also important to remember that these trends can change from quarter to quarter," Funk added.

"One disappointing observation from this survey is that 32 per cent of respondents don't plan to hire in the first quarter of 2015. It's an important reminder that many businesses still face challenges in this economy, making it difficult for them to expand."
