From Start-Up to World Market Leader
What has been known to insiders long since has now become official: The Westphalian plasma system manufacturer Plasmatreat has officially joined the ranks of German companies who have achieved world market leader status in their sector. CEO of Plasmatreat GmbH Christian Buske was awarded the medal for gaining entry into the Encyclopedia of German World Market Leaders during the Summit of World Market Leaders in Schwäbisch Hall.
(firmenpresse) - The 700-page second edition sets out the history and products of 1000 German companies who have excelled in their field at global level. Publishers Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and management expert Prof. Dr. Bernd Venohr presented the Encyclopedia during a celebratory book launch on the 27 January at the Würth Art Gallery.
Venohr, who has conducted an economic study of German world market leaders, remarked: “The phrase brings to mind huge, global holdings. But the truth is, most of the leading German companies on the world market are SMEs. They include highly specialized problem solvers, whose names are rarely mentioned in the media. Often led by engineers and scientists, these companies are renowned for their inventiveness, creativity, flexibility and process excellence. They adopt a very unique approach to management which bears little resemblance to short-term management styles and knee-jerk financial strategies.”
On the previous day the two publishers had the honor of presenting Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier with the first copy of the book at the German Foreign Office in Berlin. The foreign office and its staff support German companies in their work all around the world. Steinmeier said in his thank you speech: “There are hardly any countries and only a few industries where you will not find German companies setting production and innovation standards. All over the world, they define the ‘Made in Germany’ brand with the highest quality standards, a flair for innovation and a strong sense of reliability and responsibility.”
