VDMA: Thilo Brodtmann is the New VDMA Chief Executive Officer
(PresseBox) - The main board of the VDMA, has named Mr. Thilo Brodtmann as the new chief executive officer. He replaces Dr. Hannes Hesse, who has been the VDMA chief executive officer since 2001 and is in retirement starting in January 2015. Mr. Harmut Rauen was also named the deputy representative to Brodtmann. Brodtmann and Rauen both took office on February 1, 2015.
Thilo Brodtmann completed his studies in economics and business administration with a degree in Business Administration in 1990 and has been working for the VDMA in various functions since 1991. The fifty-year old has been the managing director for the Association of Robotics and Automation since 1999 and the deputy representative to the Chief Executive Officer since 2001. Brodtmann will be responsible for the strategic marketing for the VDMA as well as the advancement in technology fields.
Hartmut Rauen studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen. As a certified engineer, he has worked in various functions for the VDMA since 1992 and is the managing director of the Association for Transmission and Control Technology. He has also been a member of the VDMA executive board since 2005. In this role, the 47-year-old is responsible for topics involving education, research and technology. Intelligent production technology, Industry 4.0 and engineering sciences are the current topics in focus.
