Metamarkets' Streaming Data Store Druid Now Available Under Apache License
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/20/15 -- Real-time analytics pioneer Metamarkets today announced it has made available its streaming data store Druid under the Apache 2 license. More than a are using the software in production, and this new, more permissive license will give them even greater freedom to build on Druid and contribute their innovations back to the community.

Since Metamarkets open sourced Druid in 2012, the technology has emerged as a standard for exploratory analytics on large-scale, time-series data sets in ad-tech, network analysis, IoT, activity stream analysis, and operations. Druid's architecture is unique in that it combines storage and computation to create immutable indexes that are highly optimized for aggregation and other business intelligence use cases. The result is a platform that's faster and more flexible than many traditional relational databases, key/value stores, and in-memory query layers.
