Covington County Home, Pond, Pecan Orchard and Land to Sell at Auction

(firmenpresse) - ANDALUSIA, AL -- (Marketwire) -- 07/25/11 -- Raymond & Elizabeth Hicks Farm -- a Covington County property with a home, a pecan orchard and a pond -- will sell at absolute auction at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, with marketing the property and managing the sale.

The property, which includes 138.5 acres of land, will sell in seven parcels ranging from approximately 5.1 to 37.2 acres. It is located along Nalls Road (Covington County Highway 61) less than 10 minutes from Andalusia and from Gantt and Point A lakes.

"The property includes a 2,652-square-foot three-bedroom home with a 3.5-acre fish pond in the back yard, a pecan orchard and an equipment shed, all on a single parcel. The rest of the land -- which includes both timberland and land suitable either for farming or pasture -- will sell in parcels to allow the largest possible number of buyers to participate in the auction," said Jack Granger, president of the auction company.

"There will probably be some people who aren't interested in the entire 138 acres but would like to own parts of this land, such as the home or perhaps some of the pasture and timberland. We'll give these bidders an opportunity to combine parcels and bid on the combinations that suit their preference and budget," said Granger. "For example, someone could bid on as little as 5.1 acres, while someone else seeks the entirety. You just never know until the auction day," said Granger.
