(firmenpresse) - LONDON, ENGLAND -- (Marketwired) -- 03/06/15 -- The 2012 documentary Blackfish dealt SeaWorld a damaging blow after the filmmakers alleged that the theme park was not all it seemed when it came to animal protection. Since then, shares have dived 33 percent, profits have tumbled 28 percent and footfall is a far cry from what it was prior to the film's release, leaving SeaWorld in a sorry state of affairs. As shown by the SeaWorld incident, when it comes to PR, there is always more to uncover beneath the surface, and a new World Finance special report delves into the case and many more like it.

The allegations that SeaWorld's star orca whales had been treated unfairly meant that both visitors and corporate partners alike chose not to associate themselves with the amusement park, according to the World Finance report. With its image in tatters, SeaWorld must now turn to its PR team in the hope that its reputation can be restored.

The World Finance special report looks at a range of similar incidents, where PR, and the value of social media are crucial in turning a company's fortunes around. "It's not rocket science", says James Brooke, MD of Rooster PR. "People talk about it being an art form, and yes, there are nuances to it, but ultimately the overriding principles are the same."

The new issue of World Finance also reports on the death of the supermarket, a looming Texan recession and the history of bribery, along with a range of other stories in the world of finance.

To read any of the aforementioned stories and many more, see the new issue of World Finance, available online and in print now.
