Canadian Job Market Holds Steady
Participation Rate Remains Stubbornly Low

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 03/13/15 -- Bob Funk, the CEO of the second largest privately held staffing company in North America, today issued the following statement in response to the February Statistics Canada Labour Force Survey, which indicated the national job market held steady while the national unemployment rate rose slightly to 6.8 per cent - compared to 6.6 per cent in January. The participation rate remained stubbornly low, up slightly from 65.7 to 65.8 per cent.
"The Canadian job market is clearly more resilient than the daily headlines. We continue to see fairly stable job numbers across the country, which is positive," Funk said. "However, the stubborn participation rate continues to be concerning. Too many Canadians remain out of the workforce and too many appear to have given up looking for work."
