Imperial Theatre Goes High Tech

Government of Canada provides funding for state-of-the-art equipment

The Imperial Theatre received a $67,833 investment, through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, to upgrade its technical capacity to accommodate new forms of theatre, dance and music productions using digital imagery projections.

Rodney Weston, Member of Parliament (Saint John), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The Imperial Theatre, a centennial artistic venue, will purchase specialized industry-standard projection and lighting equipment that will benefit both the theatre and provincial arts organizations through in-house use and rental agreements.
