Sarcoma Storylines Aims to Shift the Power to the Patient

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO ONTARIO and DAMASCUS, MARYLAND -- (Marketwired) -- 03/30/15 -- is launching its new self care app, , aimed at helping people living with this rare form of cancer feel like their experience matters, while better managing their daily routines and improving communication with their caregivers.

Developed in partnership with , the app will provide Sarcoma patients with a variety of mini-apps powered by Self Care Catalysts' Health Storylines platform, designed to allow users to track medications, symptoms, weights and appointments, as well as manage daily behaviours and personal thoughts and feelings through the journal app.

Sarcoma Storylines is free for all users and now available , on and on the

"We are incredibly excited to bring our new mobile self-care tool to people living with sarcoma," says Bert E. Thomas IV, CEO of the Sarcoma Foundation of America. "Our goal is to help our community learn from each other connecting through a unique circle of support and better manage their personal health and wellness."

Renee, who is an early adopter of the Sarcoma Storylines application mentions, "I have used the Storyline App for Sarcoma patients and I think it is an easy to use app that opens up an online venue for patients to keep track of doctor appointments, drugs and an easy way to track and express your feelings as you go through the journey with cancer. By creating groups, you can create a place for others to check up on you and how you are doing without you having to talk about it as sometimes writing is an easier way to express your emotions. Friends, family and medical staff can be part of all or some of your journey as you see fit. Since so many people are using computers in their daily lives, this app will open up a whole new path for patients to follow their journey and to look back on where they have been and where they are going. Glad this has been created and I am excited that it is available to the Sarcoma community."

"We are inspired every day by the work of partners such as the Sarcoma Foundation of America. They work tirelessly to provide much needed support and resources to people living with this rare disease. We're excited to be part of their move into the digital world, and be part of this innovative patient and caregiver support strategy," says Grace Soyao, CEO of Self Care Catalysts.
