Jim Welsh, Chief of Programs for Larkin Street, has noted the move as critical to the future goals of the organization and important to the success of the organization's clients, as "programs and services are now better aligned within Larkin Street, and allied with the local community."

, including the newly re-named education and employment services space -- Larkin Street Academy -- .

"District 6 is the proud home of Larkin Street Youth Services' new service hub, where homeless youth can access everything from showers and meals, to medical care, to career-track training and college admission assistance," said Supervisor Kim. "Larkin Street and its new location are a critical piece of San Francisco's efforts to reduce barriers for homeless youth, engage them in life-saving services, and put them on a pathway toward a productive, independent future."

During the Grand Opening, Larkin Street will be recognizing local corporate supporters, including Google, whose Rebecca Prozan said "we're honored to be a transformational funder of Larkin Street. Providing support for their wonderful new consolidated service center, and expanded education and job training, gives the greater community of San Francisco young people on a path towards success, rather than a path towards a life-time of homelessness."
