Analysis of 3.5 Million Drive Miles Reveals Most Popular Audio and Video Apps

Approximately one-third (34%) of drivers/passengers use music streaming apps

YouTube is the overwhelming favorite with 87%

Drivers who use navigation apps keep them active, on average, for 80% of the journey

The analysis and also explored which carriers provide the best wireless speed on the selected interstates. T-Mobile customers benefit from the fastest connection on the I-495, I-95 and I-55. Verizon Wireless offers the speediest data connection on the I-405 and I-110, while AT&T beats the competition on the I-820.

Paper maps are merely a memory with navigation apps used for 80% of the driving. The analysis showed that while Google Maps is used more often, Waze loyalists remain inside the application for far longer periods of time.
